At the American University of Nigeria (AUN) Schools, education has never been confined strictly to the four walls of a classroom. As Africa’s premier “Development University” ecosystem, our mission is to blend academic excellence with a deep, unbreakable connection to our immediate society.
On July 4, 2026, the graduating class of the AUN Schools Academy and Charter proved once again that leadership begins with service. Rather than taking a traditional day off, the Class of 2026 marked the historic date by stepping directly out into the Yola community for their graduating class community service project.
For these graduating students, this wasn’t just a final box to check before receiving their diplomas it was the culmination of a culture they have built from day one. From picking up paintbrushes to transform local learning spaces, to running educational workshops and offering structural and humanitarian support, the day was defined by hard work, high energy, and shared smiles.
This special day of service reflects the lifelong commitment to humanity that AUN instills in every young mind. Our students leave our halls not just as scholars, but as conscientious, empathetic global citizens who look at their surrounding communities and ask, “How can I find a solution here?”
As the Class of 2026 prepares to officially turn their tassels and take their next big steps into the world, we are incredibly proud that their final footprints as AUN secondary students were left making a tangible difference in the lives of others.
